Why do people pretend to know about speed cameras when they have no idea?

A scottish girl told me that a speed camera would catch drivers going towards belfast when in fact it was a lie.

Another guy told me that speed curb cameras can catch drivers front ways as well as to the rear. Again - he lied.

If you don't know then don't answer you pack of deluded fools.

it takes all sorts there total no need for it the only thing I know about speed cameras is they save lives and cost us money

It depends what time of speed camera.  Some take images from the front and calculate speed as you approach them, others as you pass them.

It depends on the specific speed camera in specfic location.

If you rely soley on heresay, you will make a lot of mistakes in life. Get your facts straight from a proper source and then you will know. It is up to you to find out what is right and wrong, not for you to criticize the rest of the human race for giving you the wrong "gossip". If they aren't an "authority", then go to one! You are the captain of your ship, so ride, Captain, ride! Don't enter blustery seas when you have a weather warning......

what a delightfully eloquent person you are. speed cameras nowadays have the ability to photograph speeding vehicles coming towards them in order that the prosecuting authority can show conclusively who was driving the vehicle at the time of the offence. whilst it is true most cameras in use at the moment are passive, i.e. only pick up on vehicles moving away from them, more and more are utilising the more aggresive forward facing radar technology that can pick up a speeding vehicle up to a kilometer away. therefore, some of the people you spoke to were, in part, correct. maybe you should reconsider your views on people, you would probably benefit from it!

The only deluded fool, is you. I drive a speedvan, and they have the capabiltiy to capture both front and rear of the vehicle. Which view they capture, depends on the jurisdiction. Some only require one, while others require both.
