Hi. I received my first speeding ticket last week. I was stopped by a Louisiana State Trooper. Was caught doing 33 over the limit. My ticket reads "Speeding" and "Careless Operation of a Motor Vehicle". I know I've got to go to court for this one... but I'm wondering what will happen given that it's my first offense. If anyone has any info they could provide as far as the proceedure and how much the ticket may cost, etc... I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know. Thank you.

  1. I am sorry that I have no info but I do have tips. Always get on the judges good said!!! VERY IMPORTANT!!! Good luck in court.

  2. no

  3. My suggestion is you go to traffic school it will take the offence off your record so your insurance will not be increased.

It usually takes a few weeks for the ticket to process in order to find out the fine.

    Good Luck.

  4. I would get an attorney to represent you. Since it is your first offense the judge will probably knock down the offense. That is lets say charge you with doing 5 mph over the limit. The ticket will probably be $100 bucks or so plus the attorney fees. You may also recieve 3 points on your license. As long as you drive more responsibly in the future you should be just fine.
