Question:

Spiking help!!?

i have a good arm usually but when i go up to hit i forget to bing my arm though.. i "paint the fence" what should i do???

  1. Practice with "half swing" and use more of your wrist power to snag the ball. Once you have better control over your wrist, you would have better control over your arm swing.


  2. okay, i have the same problem, i have perfect form going up, but i never swing through the ball, that's why alot of my spikes go out. don't practice at the net, start some where on the floor in the gym, anywhere, but don't jump against the net yet. practice your steps and concentrate MOST on swinging through, cuz if everything else you know you're dong right all you need to do is focus on swinging through the ball, target the ball with your left hand ( or opposite if you're left handed) and c_o_c_k (it wouldn't let me write it normally) your right (or left) arm back above your ear with a bent elbow...do a swimming motion, snapping your right arm through as you bring your left arm down. practice that ALOT and it should come natural for you for a while...and don't forget to snap your wrist...good luck!

  3. practice.... just practice... my coach is always telling us that he dont need a hard shot spike, he only wants the right position or approaching in spiking... try to hit the ball with your positive attitude... believe in yourself first before you spike because if you spike even a year but you dont even believe in yourslef it will only be useless.. so girl i can only say that believe first in yourself then hit the ball with the right approach.. if you failed,, try it again,, like what the saying saya" try and try until you suceed".. just be comfortable in what you are doing.. in spikng you must know how to spin the ball or what we call us "topspin". hit the ball on the highest point that you could reach.. so that it would not be to delayed or you might not perfectly perform your spike... just trust in yourself,in your passion, in your talent, and in your beliefs,, if some one discourages you just dont mind them just consentrate and just make your game and play fun..

  4. First, when you do your approach which is left...right..left then jump make sure you swing your arms back to get all of the momentum going. Then just watch the ball as you're jumping and swing down hard and snap your wrist to make the ball go straight down. If you don't snap your wrist then the ball will just go straight, and then curve down. So basically just try and practice your approach because that is the most important thing.

  5. Practice your approach.

    Are you afraid of hitting the net? If you are, then start your approach back farther.

    But other than that, practicing it and making it muscle memory, where you know it without thinking, will help
