Splinter Cell Conviction Release?

Hi, I was wondering when the new Splinter Cell game is coming out. In a 2007 Gameinformer magazine (July I think...), it said Splinter Cell Conviction will be delayed till March. When I got my March magazine (today), it had no info or details of Splinter Cell Conviction. So I went to Gamestop.com and it said the pre-release will be in October. I'm real confused now... was that just a typeO or something on Gamestop.com or is it the real release. Either way, can someone explain this to me? It'd be a big help! Thanks!

Originally UbiSoft announced a release date of November of '07. So GameStop created a reservation SKU for people to reserve the title. But then UbiSoft delayed the game to an unannounced date. GameStop had lots of reserves on the title though and didn't want to cancel all the reserves they had. So they create an estimated release date. So there is no release date announced as if right now, but hopefully they will announce it soon.

SC Conviction details have vanished off the face of the Earth - nothing has been updated since early last year. Go on most sites and it will just say 2008 for release date, nothing else except what there already was last year, it's mad.

Amazon.com says the game doesn't even exist.
