Sports Video Game as General Manager?

Is there a video game or online simulator that goes extensively into being a general manger in basketball, football or baseball. More then just free agents drafts and trade. More so contract negotiations with no trade clauses and opt out or muti yr options. Also realistic trades when it comes to players for players or players for draft picks.

  1. have you tried Smackdown VS raw 2007 , 08, or 09 they have a insane GM mode :D

  2. The only games I know about are for the PC.

I've been addicted to Baseball Mogul for about five years now. It's the closest thing I've seen to actually being a baseball general manager. It's not as in-depth as I'd like it, but it's pretty close. There are no-trade clauses and both player and team options involved in contract negotiations for up to 3 years. Regular contracts max out at 7 years, making for a total of 10 years maximum. A player can waive his no-trade clause if you try and trade him to a team that's on his list. The game is part of a Sports Mogul program that also features football and basketball. I've never played those, but they're probably as good as Baseball Mogul. You can download a free trial of any of these games or buy and download them (or order the installation CD) for as low as $20 at www.sportsmogul.com.

I've also played NHL Eastside Hockey Manager, which is WAAAY more in-depth and complicated than the Sports Mogul games, but I'm not sure if the same company makes games for other sports. You can check that out at www.eastsidehockeymanager.net.
