Sports for College Application

I know that it's good to have sports to put on your college application, but i was wondering if they had to be through the high school. Would it count as a sport for the application if classes are taken through the park district? Or competing through a cheer/dance academy? Please help, since the sports at my high school aren't as interesting as the ones outside of school, like through the park district and such.

  1. .....it is good to take parts in sports and extracurricular activities while studying, but it would be better if you concentrate more on your studies to get higher grades in them.

  2. sports is good "filler" for your application... but great GPA and test scores speak much louder.

  3. It doesn't really matter, unless you are looking into a sports scholarship.  Your extracurriculars should probably include some kind of leadership position, but what it is that you did or participated in isn't really important.  Colleges just want to see that you will be an involved student.

  4. you need to listen to your heart, your heart is the key to the inner you, if you don't know you you will never know the way, you are the key, you you you, your heart
