I am a decent golfer (14 handicapper, and 13 years old). Im thinking about switching to the stack and tilt swing. Will i be able to hit the ball farther, and more conistintly. ( i hit the ball about 230 yards driver, and im looking for straighter acuracy off the tee )

  1. My vast experience tells me you will gain 40 yards from driver  but your putting will be horrible. Cracker.

  2. Phat's answer is right on the money...but there is some variation, albeit slight. for mechanics in this swing method and natural athleticism and body speed can make a difference.

  3. It may help your consistancy a little for stack and tilt swing takes out and weight transfer but you will lose some distance because stack and tilt uses nearly all arms, and you will not get as much power without your lower body.

    Good luck

  4. I tend to disagree with the last two answers.  I believe you'll lose distance with the stack and tilt swing only if your a compact swinger to begin with.  At your age flexibility shouldn't be a problem, so I don't think you'd lose any distance.  I've tried the stack and tilt swing and it works.  It takes a lot of motions out of the golf swing that would be a true benefit for certain golfers.  Like I said before I tried the swing but must confess I don't use it.  I like to feel the weight shift, it helps me with my tempo.  The only advice I could offer to you is this, and it's from personal experience, if what your doing now works stick with it.  There's no sense in changing your swing unless something major is going on.  Hone the swing you have and watch the sweet results!

  5. It has seemed to work with most of the guys on tour who have switched.
