Stain wood?

i own a tv stand that is a light brown wood color and it clashes with my dark brown furniture. How do i get it to that dark color so that it matches?

Lightly sand the tv stand to get off any wax or polish then apply a darker stain on it. I use a clean rag but you can use a brush....try it on back piece to see how it soaks into the wood and you can get a feel as to how much or how many coats it will need...The store you buy the stain from will have chips to compare the different shades.  have fun...ps...will not work on plastic veneer

Use thinner to take the old stain off the lighter table then stain it to the color that you want it is just that simple

if you want them to match exactly...lightly sand both items, then stain with the same color...then apply a clear coat.  have fun!  working on staining items is way more time consuming than you would imagine it to be.
