Question:

Stamkos to LA?

I read that LA may try to make a trade with Tampa in order to get the 1st overall pick. Although I read this at hockeybuzz, I still thought it was kind of interesting. Considering Tampa already has their superstars with Lecavalier and St Louis, it sort of makes sense that they might go for depth. LA has the second overall pick and Dallas' 1st round pick as well. They also have 3 second round picks. What do you think LA would have to give up in order for Tampa to actually make the trade? Do you think this could actually happen?

On a side note, does anyone thinks its strange that the only 2 NHL teams to give up 3-0 series lead are the Pens and the WIngs?

  1. Then why would the Lightning be marketing him already? Remember, a new owner, and he wants his own Identity. Like getting a number one pick and watching him grow into the difference.

  2. they only trade would be for a starting goalie, which both teams dont really have at the moment. So I think you can see Stamkos in a tampa jersey within the next few months

  3. Very doubtful that that will happen. The marketing blitz that is on up in Tampa right now is unreal. I am in South Florida and I am hearing about it a lot down here. Stamkos will be a Bolt.

As for the second question. No not really. It is just those teams luck i guess.

  4. about the second part..... Are you forgetting about when Dallas was up 3 games to 0 on San Jose and lost the next two.

Then finally winning game 6 in the 4th OT?

  5. I don't think Feaster could withstand the heat of trading Stamkos unless he got someone special back along with the Kings #2 pick... and I don't see how Lombardi could give up a player like Brown or Johnson or Kopitar considering how highly touted Drew Doughty is... and if I'm Feaster those are the guys I'm asking for.

  6. No its just that both teams (dallas, philthadelphia) came out and played hard hockey to keep in the race for the cup

now im a huge fan of the pens and los angeles

the kings shoud and shouldnt trade

    Should:

Look you might want more depth yes, but you dont know where the kings are gonna start. They should look at their roster and find who could help in the future and who cant, with alot of draft picks the kings might just want to keep who they have.

    Shouldnt:

You have alot of guys but they arent helping the kings that much at all. They should try and talk to the players and agents, about the current player contracts and where they want to go. If they trade then they are only doing it for the future which is good.

  7. with the wings, yes, but dallas comeback no they played better, but the redwings are going to beat them today.

with the pens nope, i really expected this series to be close, but with philly's injuries the blue line mistakes is understandable.

i've also been thinking a lot about steven stamkos going to tampa bay...because i think he should be on another team, so i'm hoping for some wheel and dealing trades on draft day. i think that the lightning would be crazy to give up their pick for this guy, but if they wanted to they'd need a decent player from la/a prospect, and la's pick at 28, and maybe a 1 of the 2nd round picks too.

either way those two teams are going to get really good players from this years draft.

lecavalier's already frothing at the mouth to have stamkos on his team.
