In the state of colorado... or any state... what is the standard UA test that they use for people on probation?

  1. 2. Definitions

    'Authorised Medication' means either a prescribed or non-prescribed substance to which access by an offender has been approved and facilitated by an appropriate officer of the Department. These substances may affect the results of testing for illicit substances.

    'Confirmatory Test' means a test conducted by a laboratory for a more detailed test of the sample using GC/MS.

    'Gas Chromatographic/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS)' means the test conducted at a laboratory that determines the presence of a particular drug and its concentration.

    'On-the-Spot Testing' means a sample of urine collected and tested immediately by trained officers. A presumptive test is used to analyse the urine. The sample may be sent to the laboratory for confirmatory testing.

    'Presumptive (Screening) Test' means a test conducted on an offender's urine using an immunoassay testing kit that will provide an immediate indication of the presence of drugs in specific drug classes.

    'Reasonable Excuse' means, for example, a medical condition preventing an offender from supplying the test sample in the time it might reasonably take another offender who does not have the medical condition to supply the sample.

    'Target/Random Test' means the analysis of samples of urine which an offender has been required to provide under Corrective Services Act 2006 (CSA) ss 41- 43.

    'Underpad (bluey)' means the absorbent underpad placed for hygiene purposes on a surface upon which substance testing products are placed.
