Starting a new web site?

I am preparing to hire someone to design me a website for my business I am wondering what they are responsible for and what I am responsible for do I need to register the domain name and find a hosting site or will they do that for me

Depends who makes the site... some companies will get hosting or provide it, so check with them.

I recommend to choose your web host by yourself. (people usuallt do that) or it is likely they pick a web host which is their partner and perhaps their quality isn't as good as many other services.
