Question:

Starting to learn to Figure Skate?

So I'm planning on taking figure skating lessons (group ones) for the fist time this summer. Yay! I currently only ice skate recreationally and I have my own skates, riedell yellow ribbons (http://www.riedellskates.com/ice/11... I was just wondering at what level do you think I should buy a new pair of better skates? Also how much should I spend? I'm 18 so money is kind of limited, but I am going to try and find a job soon. Also should I buy my blade and boot separately so they will last longer? My goal is to get to F.S. 4 in ISI. Thanks in advanced for everyone's help and if anyone has any tips feel free to share. (P.S. I'm 5' 2" and weight about 100 lb if that matters when considering skates too)

  1. Hello! you could buy new skates in FS 1 =)  you should spend like 200$+ you could get "Jackson Competitor" that are great for that level. They come with "Mirage" Blades and the cost of the boot-blade package is 250$.

    Good Luck with skating!=)

  2. The time to buy new skates is when you no lnger have support in the old ones. If you are really serious, I'd suggest the moment you can afford it to get custom made boots.

    They are more comfortable, they take less time to break  donw.

  3. i recommend jackson artiste, they will get u through all ur single jumps. prob usfsa basic 3/4 u shud change ur skates.
