Question:

Starvation...Are you hungry?

A while ago I was browsing through the news, and I came upon some daunting information indicating that many of the famine stricken regions of the world (ie. Sub-Saharan Africa, India, and some countries in East Asia) will be negatively affected not only by rising gas and food prices but also Global Warming.

As a scientist I know Global Warming is going kick some major butt, but it seems that the phenomena may lead to the death of thousands if not millions of people worldwide.

I know the world is 6 billion strong, and resources may be wearing thin, but is this the way we'll let our brothers die?

How can we, Americans, help reduce world hunger?

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Before some of us even think of this we need to be able to help ourselves

  2. I think there should be found a way to grow food there and give it out to the people. Not to bring from America but to actually grow it there.People will have jobs and food.

  3. shut down mcDonalds

  4. Maybe we could invent a machine that pumps persitives into food and makes bactira ridden food stirtile so that we can box up our left overs and send it to those places!

  5. america ia the biggest problem we waste food and let stupid peopel also know as the obese eat it all they should be used as food or at least forced the way china jsut did if your over 36 inches tehy ur going to loss wieght or pbe punished there are way to many lazy fat f*ck people in this country and there bogging down teh health system causeing the crisis were in right now.  we should jsut cook and eat the ones who cant lose wieght to feed the others.

  6. One way is by going to freerice.com. (you've probably heard of it) It helps give people in rural asian countries rice during this shortage. You just have to answer vocabluary questions and each one you get correct, then they donate 5 grains or something like that. It really adds up.

that's kind of a small way to help, but it still helps. It's better then doing nothing.
