So, state qualifying time is 10.6

the winner of state got 10.68 because of wind

will they change the state qualifying time for the 100 next year?

    becuz this happened because of win.

    they dont post-pone the olympics because of rain and wind.

    wind is just a factor in running.


  2. They won't change the state qualifying type just because of one race in which there was wind.  If you can run a 10.68 with wind, then you can defenitly run better than a 10.6 without wind.

  3. Qualifying times are intended to ensure a certain quality of entrants as well as a certain number of entrants.

    If the meet director intends to have 3 rounds in the 100m, but only 16 people make the qualifying standard, they will lower the standard for the next year. If too many people make the standard, they will make it faster for the next year.

    It really has nothing to do with the time that wins at that meet, but the times that are run over the course of the year.
