Stiff neck??????????

my 8 year old brother was putting his shirt on today when he heard a crack in his neck and his neck started hurting him. I told him to lay down and put some ice on it and he did, then i looked it up on google and it said to put a hot rag on the back of his neck so i did, but he wont get off the bed cause when he gets up he says his neck hurts really bad, does anyone know whats the matter? or what i can do to help him with the pain?

That happened to me once; and i was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. I suggest seeing the child's pediatrician. it's difficult to properly diagnose what is wrong with him unless one is able to touch his neck and such. Either way, i suggest taking him to his pediatrician; just to make sure he's not in any danger.

Better safe than sorry, i always say.
