Stil have not recieved refund?

My mom did my taxes for me April 13th and I still have not recieved my refund check.

She filed it electronically, and the website she used was recommended on irs.gov.

I went to irs.gov to check the status but it told me that it did not have any information. I got the same thing when I called the hotline.

I need that money because I'm going on vacation with my boyfriend's family July 17th and I'm not working right now.

How can I find out what's going on?

  1. It sounds like your return was rejected for some reason.  Did your mom get an email as to whether it was accepted or not?  Efiled returns that are accepted don't normally get lost, although a return filed on paper and mailed in can get lost.

I'd file again and see what happens.

  2. I feel your pain.  I, too, have not received my rebate check yet either.  The IRS hotline only gives you information about a week before your check is to be sent unfortunately.  Go to www.IRS.gov and click on "Where's My Stimulus Payment?" and you have to type in your social security number, filing status, and number of exemptions in order to find out when your check is to be sent.  But, remember, this information can only be found out 1 week prior to it's mailing.

    Good Luck!

  3. Go to the site you mentioned and there is a calendar  on there telling you when they will be sent out..Its based on the last 2 digits of your social security number. So check that out.

  4. Go to their office and file for your refund. It normally take a while to get a refund so don't make immediate plans related to your refund unless it's already there. Every government got tax red tape.

  5. The best guess is that the IRS did not acknowledge the return and you really have not filed.  That is a common problem for those that use on-line filing services if they are not familiar with the process.  99% of the cases I am aware of with similar cercomstances to those you discribe are simplly not filed properly.  If that is the case you need to file a return asap.  You will not get you refund for at least 6 to 8 weeks from the date that you really do file.
