2nd among RS - Goal Assists per game

2nd among RS - Kicks per game

1st among RS - Handballs per game

1st among RS - Disposals per game

1st among RS - Marks per game

  1. he has not been nominated because the AFL dont know how to pronounce his name and they dont want to look like idiots if they get it wrong

btw it is pronounced deel with a long 'e' sound

  2. He is ineligible for the award as of his age.

  3. I think he deserves to be nominated, but he hasn't been playing as long as some other young players this season, and maybe that's the reason why the selectors have not chosen him yet. I think he will receive a nomination in the next couple of rounds.

  4. He will be nominated before seasons end, No worries!!

  5. Have you checked out how many hard ball gets he ends up with?

Have you checked how many contested possessions he gets.

Have you checked how many contested marks he takes?

He is a fringe player & only gets possessions by receiving the easy ball that someone else has worked for.

The Rising Star selectors are no fools.

The above is the answer to your question.

  6. I thought he was nominated in that west coast game where he had 31 or so possessions, wow that is just crazy how can they miss  pure talent like that, he is so deservant of a nomination!

  7. The nominations come on a game-by-game basis first off. Has he had one totally outstanding game or is he consistent from game to game?

If he hasn't had one absolutely fabulous game above the other nominees in a given week, he won't make it, no matter what his season stats are. First you must have an incredible game to get nominated. Then your entire season is judged against the other 21 nominees.

I know you may not like this answer, but that is how it seems to work from year to year.

  8. he will get in eventually

  9. **The season isn't over yet so he's still got a chance of getting a nomination.**

  10. I'm no fan of the Brisbane Lions but even I can't see why AFL haven't nominated him yet, he has had three absolute ripper games to date that I know about and possibly more. It is not as if he is shaded by anyone else at Brisbane, they have some good kids but nobody else who takes the eye like Reimers, Rhys what's his face or Dalziell.

Perhaps this is just the legendary blindness of umpires that the AFL seem to share!

Good luck for the two remaining games, I hope he gets a nom.

  11. actually i think the rule says they are eligible if they turn 20 after 1st of jan, not sure i think they sed on SEN 1116 that he is too old
