Question:

Strange Cat Behavior Question?

I have a couch that folds out. Whenever I fold it back up, the front peg legs leave little dents in my rug. My cat goes nuts over these. He'll get that crazy/excited/naughty cat look on his face and paw at them real fast like he's digging. Then he'll hop forward and lay on them and look around himself really fast. He does this EVERY time he finds one. Does anyone know why on earth he does this? I'm very curious.

  1. He's just being a cat! They will play with anything that looks like it's "something".

  2. Its normal!!! Its just an excuse for them to run around and be silly, relieves bordom, etc, etc...

My cat loves grabbing at the buttons on the couch cusions, grabbing at tiny spots on the carpet, realy loves to dig a hole hide in it and pounce on you from the hole.

Its just cat play, its cool. Jane

  3. Cats do the craziest things sometimes my cat will be fast asleep then all the sudden jump up as if something bit her and starts running around in circles. My vet said nothing was wrong with her and I had nothing to worry about. I think evert cat has its only little unique thing. maybe this is your cats. I wouldn't look too much into it.

  4. i think it means that you're not playing enough with her.

  5. If only WE could be entertained by something so small.  =)

  6. Let me guess. You are a first time cat owner, right? Cats can take the most trivial of things and make a toy or game out of them. He's just "being a cat". Enjoy!

  7. a cat's natural behaviour is to stalk, chase and kill.

therefore anything that catches their eye will be attacked!

my cat is 12 years old and still goes ballistic over a little red laser pointer.....try it out! it is absolutely hilarious :)

no need to worry about your cats behaviour, it is completely normal

  8. Yeup, it sounds like a regular cat thing.  Who knows why cats do some of the things they do, but he's just playing with it.  You have nothing to worry about.  :)
