I dont usually run a lot, but last month i ran for about 20 days straight everyday for 30 minutes around my neighborhood, but these days i come from work tired, so i stopped it

its been a week or two now, since i stopped and my knees are killing me when i walk, jump...

I tried running again, but they start hurting badly, and feels like the bones are dry and they feel really warm afterwards....

i'm a male btw

what should i do and eat to get back normal?

  1. You did do warm up exercises before right? If you just started running like that then you probably got injured.

  2. if its on the outside of your knee its your ITB band and you need to maybe get some of those bands that help take stress off them if its the inside its runners knee try cross training and resting also try taking a one a week break to let your body recover

  3. stretch maybe..stay off them

  4. Well, first of all, I wouldn't recommend anyone to run for 20 days straight w/out a day off. You should take at least 1 full day off from exercise every week no matter what you're doing. It raises risk for injury and exhaustion if you don't.

As far as the joints go- I would recommend taking some glucosamine w/ chondroiton (a supplement) to help- it might take a month to see a difference, but most runner's take it.

  5. When it comes to knees I would say go to a Dr.  It might just be strain and require more rest but you never know it could be a number of things.

  6. Your body is just sore from the trauma. This is normal- google a condition called 'runner's knee'. Basically, it's a beginners condition. I've had the same thing when I started running- the best thing you can do is up your intake of proteins and ice your knees if it gets unbearable.

  7. Honestly, I always get a pain in my knees at the start of cross country season.  I don't know if this is the same pain that you get mine feels like pressure on the knee cap, but the way I deal with it is that I take Glucosamine Sulfate Pills Each day for the start and just, simply put run it out.  I don't know if the pills are just the placebo effect but they are supposed to help the joints.  Good luck, I had aching knees.
