i am thinking about putting my toy poodle up for stud service once he's a little older....is $100 plus pick of the litter too much to ask for?

what do you think?

(the vet believes he will not get over 4 pounds, he's black with a little white on his chest).

  1. Unless he is a finished CH dog and has had all genetic health tests.. no one will seriously consider your dog for stud.

Stud fees are ussually pick of litter OR the cost of a puppy from that litter.

  2. You get one or the other not both, secondly he is not breed stock quality. Poodles must be one SOLID color

  3. The others are correct.  Your dog is too small to be bred (a Toy Poodle should weigh around 7-9 pounds) and his color is not accepted.  Poodles must be of a solid color.  Yes, you'll be asking too much, because, much as you love him, you will be doing the breed a serious disservice by perpetuating his faults in size and color.  Besides, there are already plenty of qualified studs available who meet the breed's standard.

  4. You are the person who just brought home a "teacup" poodle right? This is not a breeding quality animal. You should not even remotely consider breeding him and adding inferior genes to the toy poodle breed. He is the wrong size and wrong color. No white patches allowed. Males should be larger than females, usually 5 pounds or more.

Please just neuter him and love him.

  5. Is he top of the line? does he have super health? unless he is dont breed. PERIOD. It's stupid, are you stupid? I believe I've made my point.

As for your Question, who knows, im not stupid enough to breed out of control.

  6. Not really such a great idea. Your dog should have titles to be a breeding dog, whether they be conformation or working. :) Otherwise, what sets your dog apart from the zillion other unaltered male poodles? What would make those puppies more special than the zillion other poodle puppies? If you have titles on your dog, that proves your dog is a quality animal, not just an awesome pet.
