Studded Winter Shoes?

Question

Has anyone had experience with studding your own winter hiking boots instead of buying a studded shoe accessory? Just like putting metal studs in the knobby part of a winter car tire, only in the knobby part of your shoes? I have a favorite pair of winter hiking boots and need something to give them a little more grip on icy hikes.

dude you dont want to do that if you walk in someone house with them on you would destroy the floor

walmart sells in the shoe dept. a rubber cleated ice griper that goes over your shoes for 10.00 bucks I would go that way
