Studio mixer and mbox connection?

Question

I was just wondering on how to connect my mixer outs to the mbox2

I plan on connecting the mixer's alt 3/4 outs to the mbox 2

Do i connect 2 male (L/R) TRS cables from the mixer outs to input 1 and 2 of the mbox?

or...

do i connect 2 male (L/R) TRS Y cables from the mixer outs to only input 1 of the mbox?

If you want to record in stereo, connect it the first way.

You should never use a "y cable" to connect two outputs to one input.  "y cables" should only be used when splitting one output to two inputs.
