Depends on the subject but generally flash cards are very helpful. Or if you have a study guide find a quiet place and try to turn the guide into a series of questions. You should be pretty well-prepared if you take good notes and/or your professor gave you a good study guide.

You can either put the questions on flash cards or you can just attempt to memorize the sheet you put them on.

Either way, study regularly up until exam day and right before you go in review your notes.

if you are watching tv just look over your notes (or whatever your studying from) during commercial.

study more regularly for shorter periods. this often works better than one long cram session.
