  1. The closest thing I can think of that would have the same consistency is corn syrup, but the taste would be altered. Also, I am not sure about how much of that you would be able to have since you are diabetic. Hope this helped tho, peace.  :)

  2. Fructose, if you can have that.

    Splenda

  3. Honey Substitute

For 1 cup, use 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar plus 1/4 cup liquid (use liquid called for in recipe); 1 cup molasses; 1 cup light or dark corn syrup; or 1 cup pure maple syrup.

  4. cup for cup of light or dark Karo or add 1/4 cup water to a cup of sugar does the changes from honey.

I do not mess up my dessert recipes with substituting sugar subs for the sugar in them. I also do not mess them up by trying to change the fat called for with some kind of olive oil or other junk that will change the flavor and texture.

I am type 2 diabetic and eat just half a serving of real desserts. I do the substitutes when my great aunt comes to visit for the honey as she is very allergic to it. But other than that, I don't see the need for changing any recipes.

Half a serving cuts the grams of carb and calories in half. It maintains the recipe in its glory and taste treat.

You can do this!! Most ADA approved recipes for desserts contain more carbs than I allow for the whole meal!

  5. you could use molasses or corn syrup. does this help??

  6. Honey 1 cup 1

1/4 cup white sugar plus 1/3 cup water

    OR 1 cup corn syrup

OR 1 cup light treacle syrup
