Substitutes for MAC brushes?

okay i was wondering if anyone knows substitutes for MAC brushes.

ex. you could use the 229 instead of the 227 and you'll get the same results (this is a fake example)

if you guys know a site or something that has a list of substitutes could you give it to me?
