Subtle highlights on me... Girls help!?

Question

I want subtle carmel brown and carmel blonde highlights to add some dimension to it after having the base color made darker a little darker brown. Would girls like that?

I've gotta say, I don't like a man with highlights.  I barely like them on girls, but that's kinda girly, no offense.
