  1. I don't know about your high school, but my school has an ACT prep class. To me this seems to be very helpful so that's what I am going to do. My friend took the class and got a 25 as her score, and the average at my school is a 21.

    Hope I Helped =]

  2. When I took the PLAN test, I got an estimated composite score of around 26. When I took the actual ACT the spring of my junior year, I got a 34 (first and only try). The best way to improve your scores is to take difficult classes in high school. Other than that, here is how I studied. The week before the test, I bought an ACT practice book. I skimmed the sections and answered the review questions at the end of each section. If I did poorly on the review questions I would go back and carefully re-read that section. I also took two practice tests so I could get used to the timing. I thought the practie tests were the most helpful, because answering all the questions was my biggest problem. To improve your math score, take the math section of a practice exam with a friend who is good at math. Have them explain how to answer the questions you don't understand.

    Good Luck!

  3. Buy a prep book that has practice tests and take those.  Familiarize yourself with the test as much as possible.  You won't be able to answer any harder questions on the real deal that you can't now, so your best bet is to practice answering the ones you can do, faster.  The average person isn't supposed to finish the test...keep that in mind.

I took it as a sophomore too and ended up with a 28.  Took a few practice tests and got a 31 on the real thing.  I would assume if you keep practicing you could bring your composite up to about a 23 or 24 if you're motivated...which is a few points above average and pretty respectable =]  Good luck!
