Sudden blurriness ....help?

For the past year and a half, I have battled chronic conjunctivis with no resolve. I have eye duct stints, have been treated with several steriod drops and most recently a chemo pill. The latest concern is that several weeks ago I woke up and had blurriness in both eyes and each day it seems to get worse. My vision becomes blurred about 3 feet in front of me. I have been seen by a retina and cornea specialist and have been told my eyes look great and the pressure is good. I have no other symptoms and other than emotionally feeling hopeless, I seem to be in good health. My general practioner claims it could be anxiety and recommened Zoloft. I feel there has to be a reason for the sudden blurriness, but no one seems to know the answer. Any help would be great!

  1. If everything else checks out, then yes, it could be known as hysterical vision loss.  This is generally psychosomatic, meaning there's nothing physically wrong, but you're under some stress that's triggering it.  I wish I had more of an answer for you, but in this limited venue, assuming all else checks out, that's the diagnosis of exclusion.

  2. i think im having the same problem... my vision dosnt get blurry but very bright ...or white so white that i cant seem but about 3 ft away.

  3. ive heard that if you are missing certain vitamin in your diet that it could cause blurriness
