  3. Try Avast.

You can have the Home Edition. Just register to their site to get a free license for a year.

  4. yeah for me i use avast as firewall and avira as secondary scanner..

before i used only avast and found out that some virus still do enter into my computer. .so i downloaded a free version of avira.. and since then all the viruses in my computer were all gone..

  7. It really depends on what operating system you have. So it is better to try the free ones available and choose the one that suits you best. Free edition is good and enough for homes,if you need it for an office, buy it. Check out http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-sAFtLsc8e... for more details.

  8. Consumer Search recommends AVG Free Anti-Virus.  I use it and it works well.  I just caught two viruses today!

  10. Hi

There's a great review of the big three free anti-viruses here:

Personally I think you should use AVG free as long as your computer is not too old.

  11. I have Avira Antivirus free edition. I download it 5 mnths ago n i still dnt have any problems wit it.

  12. I strongly recommend that you use Threat fire because it use very little system resources (5 MB RAM)

while giving you the same protection as other anti-virus programs.

Your system will not slow down when you use Threat Fire.

Threat Fire is PC Magazine Editor's choice.

    http://www.threatfire.com/

    1) Install the program

    2) Do a FULL system scan

    3) Threat Fire can quarantine and neutralise viruses, even those that hide in system restore folder.

    4) Once a virus is quarantine, your system is safe and you have the option to delete

    the quarantine files later.

    ThreatFire's patent-pending ActiveDefense

technology offers protection against all types of internet threats

    - both known and unknown - spyware, adware, keyloggers, viruses, worms,

Trojans, rootkits, buffer overflows, and other malware.

ThreatFire uses its unparalleled protection to hunt down and paralyze those threats

that are either too new or too clever to be recognized by traditional "signature-based" antivirus.
