  1. Paris is a city where good food can be found in the simplest restaurants.

A typical Parisian restaurant, reasonably priced is called a French bistro...fast service and reasonably good food. There are loads of them depending on where you are in Paris. The best way to do it is to ask the concierge of your hotel for recommendations. If you are in the area of Notre Dame, there is a one called Vieux Bistrot, on Rue du Cloitre Notre Dame,  this is rather an expensive one but you can find more reasonable  ones in the area.A historical one is Cafe de Flore, 172 Blvd St Germain... made famous in the 50s by Jean Paul Sartre, Beauvior and other intellectuals, very Parisian athmosphere. For cheaper ones, there are plenty in the  Latin Quarter..especialy close to the area of Notre Dame. Also when you go to Montmartre...La Mere Catherine, an institution there.

For Americanised restaurants, there are of course the fast food places like McDonalds on the Champs Elysees and in other areas. There are also Pizza places (like Pizza Hut) everywhere. There is a rsetaurant called Breakfast in America serving classic burgers and pancakes with maple syrup. It is on the 5th Arrondissement...rue des Ecoles. And I remember, there is a bagel place in the Marais District.

Now for the really nice restaurants....

I can recomend plenty of really nice restaurants, it depends on   how much you like to spend..

To name a few   expensive but very nice ones....Taillevent, Ami Louie,     I recommend Le Grand Befour in the Palais Royal area...beautiful ambiance, top service, historical too and the food is excellent especially the ravioli of foie gras with truffles. Another favourite of mine is Ambroisie at Place des Vosges...lovely tapestries hanging on the walls...almost like a museum. It is in a 17th century mansion..;excellent food too!!Place des Vosges is a lovely square, you should visit Victor Hugo's  house which is now a museum. You can also try Lasserre, 17 FRANKLIN D. Roosevelt, it has a gliding sunroof ceiling, food has a Mediteranean touch, 2 Michelin stars!

Enjoy your holidays. Next time you should stay longer , there is plenty to do.. . .wish I am in Paris.
