My little brother has no job and is currently living on my couch. He is trying to go into the military but owes approx $3500 in tickets and has been told he cannot join with tickets even though they are not warrants. Does anyone have any suggestions on how he can get in, or get the money to pay the tickets to join? I dont have it to give to him and he can't stay on my couch much longer to pay it off with a job (if he found one). Any help is appreciated.

  1. If he wants to be in the military bad enough he will do whatever it takes to achieve that goal..

And please understand that the military does not solve all these issues that people have..Many times the military makes things worse or postpones them for four years..

If he wants to truly change he will take responsibility for HIS own actions and he willl correct them in order to be allowed to enlist..He needs to stop looking for the easy way out.

  2. I was an Army recruiter 2000-2004. The military will not allow enlistments to anyone with open dispositions. If you had a $151.00 speeding fine and paid $150.00, you still owe $1.00 and are ineligible to join the military. It sucks, but the military does not want people to join to hide from debts.

  3. Where I am located, if you are on a payment plan, the tickets will not even show......

  4. Your little brother is not evan enlistment eligible until he pays those fines off in full. $3,500 in fines is more than a few speeding tickets. He may not evan be eligible to enlist. Those tickets will turn into warrants if he does not start making payments. Then there are the other qualifications. Can he pass the asvab test, physical and drug test ?

I can understand you wanting to help your brother out. Right now your not helping, your enabling him to be a bum and he won't move unless you make him.
