Summer Trip?

My family and I always take a summer trip, but this year money has become an issue but we still want to vacation somewhere.

Any suggestions for fun, beautiful, and interesting places a family of five (with 3 teenage daughters) could go for a 1-2 weeks?

US, South America, or Canada only please.
