It is summer break and I feel it is a waste. I want to use the time to improve on as much as i can, as I have my Gcse's this up coming year, consequently i want to become more intellectual. I want to focus on 4 certain subjects i could improve on: science, mathematics, english and history. I mainly would like to improve my English skills, focusing on my vocabulary, punctuation and grammar. Help fast!!!! but I dont know how to go about it and do this..

  1. Your punctuation, vocabulary and grammar sound fine to me. Just read a variety of texts, newspapers, etc. Also try IQ puzzples to improve your general mental agaility, but above all HAVE FUN THIS SUMMER -it is your last long holiday before your GCSEs. There is nothing wrong with getting Bs anyway, and if you maintain your level of commitment when term restarts, and ask your teachers what you can do to maximise your potential, you will do really well.

    Good luck...

  2. read.

  3. Calm down the GCSE's are still a ways away. You can read different vocab books and self help books.

  4. Get tutored by your mum or dad maybe or try to practice urself. Maybe go online?

  5. You seem somewhat tense- you clearly do need a break! All the research seems to point to a "dip" in learning happening over the six week break due to people just losing touch with what they were doing on a regular basis during term-time. Have a flick through your work from last year if you have it to hand; otherwise go onto BBC Bitesize, they have activities which will help you to stay up to speed and some of them are quite good fun. You don't need "Help fast" just a sense of perspective! Getting  a B at this stage is a pretty good indicator of an A/A* next year but only if you don't crack up from stress. Good luck.

  6. don't worry so much, man. if there is a will, there is a way.

just go it slowly and take it easy. otherwise, u can get stress. why don't you just try to read books that can help you and other resources.

  7. I agree with the bails above. Just relax, the summer holidays are there for you to relax and enjoy yourself, not so you can do more work like you've already been doing like the rest of the year. Just read books or something but nothing too straining. Take it easy =]

  8. You should try online sites such as MyVerbal.com. They have this free thing going on right now with a lot of practice problems. It benefited me.

  9. Calm down. Life is too short. You get a break in the summer to recharge your batteries.Use it and enjoy yourself, when you get back to school in September there will be enough time to study hard to pass your GCSE's.
