Help please, I was using super glue while trying to fix something and it got on my hand and my hand was stuck to the desk...(go ahead a laugh, my kids are). I got my hand free and tried using nail polish remover to get it off my hand but it's not coming off. What else can I use?

Thanks...hope you enjoyed the laugh at my stupidity.

  1. hahahaha. ok sorry i needed that. just take lysol (which contains lye solvent and thats what will help so if you can find that stuff pure then that would work) and dilute it with water. rub this on your hand and try to soak it for about 15 mins. if it doesnt work then you can use either chlorinated water or ice after its been in seltzer.

yea i know all these sound really weird but i promise you they work

  2. Finger nail polish remover. It will eat the paint off the desk, but you won't be stuck any longer than you have to be.

  3. Superglue will have to wear off. Give it a couple days and with normal hand washing the residue will be gone.  I've gotten superglue on my hands before doing craft projects and such. Nothing really works at getting it off other than time! you'll have that gritty feeling for a couple days.

As for glueing your hand to the desk, as funny as that is I'll one up you!! When I was a kid my dad busted his tooth and chipped off a piece. Instead of going to the dentist like a reasonable person... he thought he could super-glue the tooth fragment back on!!! (I swear on my life this is a TRUE story!!)  So in his attempts at hillbilly dentistry, he super-glued his finger to his tooth... and his lip to his finger!! He must have been drooling for help for an hour!! It was quite hilarious and a memory my brother and I will NEVER forget!!!!!!

  4. Paint thinner will work . Just use a little bit though .
