I am driving down the Pacific Coast Hwy (San Fran to LA) and I want to learn how to surf. However, time is slightly limited so I'm looking for a place where my friend and I can learn/be taught in a day or possibly two...location does not matter as long as it is in between San Fran and La...anyone know where I can find this. Thank you so much, in advance!

  1. find a surf shop

  2. Capitola Beach Company also has a SHOP located at 131 Monterey Ave in Capitola Village!

Here is their phone (831) 462-5222

  3. eli howerds urf school

  4. Rent longboards at Cowell's Santa Cruz. It's a mellow easy wave and  you wont need an instructor, just do what everyone else is doing.

  5. come do san diego and i'll do it, bwahaha.

  6. I'm from Santa Cruz Ca. and any surf store in here will set you up for a class and teach you the basics. It's about an 1-1/2 hours a day. Also, they will be able to provide you with the basic attire (surfboard, wet suit etc) for a small fee. Classes normally go for $65-$80 per day, depending were you go and if/or want a private lesson; you can do it in groups as well.

Also, if you make a quick stop at Capitola Beach, there is a kiosk set-up with beach stuff; surboards, boogie-boards included. I asked the cashier and he said you can make an appointment one day ahead (recommended) for surfing lessons. Okay, that is, how long you're staying within this area.
