Surround Sound Wire Problem?

On my surround sound system, the wires that go from the reciever to the speakers are the kind where you have that thin wire that goes into 2 terminals per speaker and is held in place by little clips. The wires popped out of place when I pulled the entertainment center to dust and un tangle the wires, and a couple speakers' wires tore, there is a little silver part of the wire that was connected to the copper part and that is what broke, and the copper is frayed. is there ANY way to fix this issue?

  1. cut the wire, twist it with your fingers, then bend it like a really narrow "U" then press it into the red and black clips on the surround sound "Box".

  2. I know that when I had this problem, I had someone cut the bad part off and strip the wires just a bit so I'd have a good connection again, so some wire strippers may be in order.
