Surround Sound Xbox 360?

Question

Is it possible to get my xbox 360 to work with my surround sound system to play dolby 5.1? I have connected it with the left and right audio cables and set the 360 to 5.1 output but it still only comes out of the 2 speakers?

Left and right are NOT 5.1 connections. I'm assuming you mean you are using the A/V red and white cables. Those are not 5.1 connections hun. 5.1 connections come out of digital audio out optical or HDMI. Digital optical is basically, data transfer with light. That is the most popular connection for 5.1. Buy a digital out opt. cable. They range from $20 (xbox 360 opt. cable) to $100 for a monster high quality cable. Have fun!
