Swaziland Trip Questions?

We are headed to Africa next week. First, we are going to Capetown to be tourists, then headed Mbabane, Swaziland to help widows and orphans for ten days (79 degrees). Finally we are going to Skukuza Rest Camp in Kruger National Park for safari for three nights.

We have some questions for those who can tell us!

Toilets:

-How are the bathroom facilities at the care centers in Swaziland?

-How are the bathroom facilities for the safari and on the game drive?

Drinking Water:

-We've been told not to drink the water anywhere, but now we've been told that hotels and bed and breakfasts are fine. What is your take?

Bugs:

Does Skukuza Rest Camp in Kruger supply mosquito nets, and if not is there a store nearby that sells them?

Recreation:

Is it warm enough to swim in the second week of September in Mbabane, Swaziland and Skukuza Rest Camp because they both have swimming pools.

Do I need really need a hat and hiking boots or can I do without?

Also, I heard people sometimes don't take purses and just a backpack, Is it a bad idea to take a purse?

Last question: Do i need my passport with me at all times while I am there?

Thanks for all your help, we are getting very excited for our trip!

  1. 1. Sanitation is good in South Africa & in Mbabane.

    2. The drinking water is ok in SA but when i was in Swaziland i bought bottled water.

    3. I'm sure you can get mosquito nets in the Kruger, just make sure you're also on anti-malaria treatment.

    4. September will be spring time, so it might be warm enough to swim.

You definitely need your hiking boots & hat.

As in any other country keep your belongings safe, including your purse & passport.
