  1. well it depends how long the practice is and the interevals between

for my school team thats not alot but we are all above like 14

for my club team we r divide into lanes by how good we are and its toned down every lane  suggest that to your coach?

the 100s sprint breathing every 7 is a little excessive.

just try talking to your coach.

  2. no thats not bad at all unless your times are killer for everyset but 500 kick seems a bit much it should be like a 200 i think at least not 500 kick everyday.

  3. No, that's not really too bad. Unless you haven't been swimming for a while. Anyway we usually swim something like this:

    12 x 50 or 200 free, 200 kick, 200 I.M., 200 Paddle/Pull, 200 free again for warmup.

A ten- minute kick alternating sprint and easy kicking or 10 X 50s kick or 8 x 100s kick

    6 x 50 stroke drill (usually fly)

    8 x 50 full stroke

    8 x 200 or something like this ladder (6 x 100s, 5 x 100s, 4 x 100s, 3 x 100s, 2 x 100s (all fast), 1 x 100 sprint) or this ladder (5 x 50s, 4 x 100s, 3 x 200s, 2 x 300s, 1 x 400)

Then either a 100, 200, or 300 warm-down depending on how much time we have left.

  4. well first of all how old are you? If you haven't been swimiming for more than 2 or 3 years, that workout seems a little hard. This morning I had the workout

    300 swim, 300 kick, 300 IM, 300 swim

    8 50's sprint, 8 100's sprint, 8 200's sprint

    600 sprint kick

This workout was tough for me, and I love sprinting in practice. If you are more of a distance person, try talking to your coach so she/he can tone it down a little and work more on long techinque strokes. Hope I helped :)

  5. yea thats torture..are you all sprinters? cuz thats a lot of sprinting.

  6. I can see the 7 100's being pretty difficult if you're not getting much rest, but overall the work out doesn't look completely horrible. I guess your age and experience also needs to be taken into account though.

If you are on the younger portion of the age group (probably less conditioned) the workout could be a good challenge.

For the older half though, the workout seems completely reasonable. This workout is a little bit less intense than what I would have done on my high school swim team.

To give you a comparison, a typical high school work out at my school would be:

    500 warm up

4 200's (no real breathing requirement)

    4 100 IMs

    4 100's (on a set time)

    4 75's (stroke work)

    8 50 sprints

    8 25 sprints
