Question:

Swimming Points?

In a recent major meet, when tallying the results from the individual events, I won my age group, but now someone is saying I actually was tied by someone else. I won three events, and got third in the other one (there was a 4 event limit).

The person who supposedly tied me had two wins and two seconds. Each place had a different point value. 1st:10 points, 2nd: 8 points, 3rd: 7 points, and so on....

when you add up my points, I have 37(10+10+10+7)

when you add up the other swimmer's points, he has 36(10+10+8+8).

It is impossible for my place to be tied unless someone else won atleast 3 events, correct? (there were only 6 events per age group available).

There have been other ridiculus issues like this at the meet, too. Please, someone assure me that 37 is, in fact more than 36!

  1. Age group high point winners are determined the day of the meet.  The meet is done, you are the winner, whether its a trophy, plaque, ribbon or bragging rights   =]
