  1. you shouldn't swim alone the risks are real.  tell the person you are with that you want some peace and quiet or find someone who would enjoy the same

  2. i know where your coming from i think it great to be able to relax and enjoy the pool by yourself but your dad does have a point there are so many accidents that can happen while you are in the pool i suggest asking your dad to give you at least 5 min by yourself a day and then the next week ask for 10 and so on. ask like an adult and not a teenager be straight forward and ask for just a little time by yourself.

  3. Your father is right.  One should NEVER swim alone.  That's a simple safety rule and common sense.

  4. he needs to trust that there are life guards around to save you. some hit his head and drowned but the life guard saved him and i think he's alive again and healthy. plus he was doing lap swims. maybe take a few classes to get his approval.

  5. Swimming alone isn't the greatest idea and your dad has a valid reason not to want you to.  However, if there is a lifeguad on duty then you should be completely fine.  Try explaining that you aren't doing anything dangerous, just a few minutes.  If you have a cell phone, try taking that with you and calling him every 30 minutes or so!
