i have to swim tomorrow for PE and my teacher says no exceptions whatsoever. i'll be on the third day of my period so it'll be pretty heavy and i dont know what to do

a lot of people on yahoo answers were suggesting tampons but i haven't used one yet so i'm scared to try one

so i was wondering how you put them on properly?

and does it hurt when you move around or swim in the pool??

and also.

is it hard to pull them back out? i'll be using it for about an hour or a little more..

i heard theres a string to pull out will it ever get stuck it's my first time trying so .. yeah...

  1. just tell your mom to talk to your PE teacher about it tomorrow before your PE class starts or tell your mom to write a note?

    about your tampon questions:

-when you buy the box, it'll have a little pamphlet inside to teach you how to put it inside, take it back out, out and will have FAQs!

-no, it will not hurt! you will mostly likely forget that your even using one! you can also buy the ones which are specifically useful for when you do a lot of moving around in your day!

-no, it is not hard at all. that question is answered in the pamphlet.

tip: dont have it on for more than 8 hours! and you should wear a panty liner when your using it.

    hope this helps!! =]

  2. Well I do not use tampons when I go swimming. I just don't use anything. It's just like when you are in the shower-when you are wet, you won't bleed. I just quickly get into the pool, and when I am done, I get out of the pool and quickly go to the bathroom to put a pad on and put a towel on, or change into clothes.

Another thing you can do is get a note from your parent/guardian and give it to your teacher and maybe then they will let you out of it because I think that they cannot force you to do it.

But whatever you choose, good luck with it and I hope I helped! (:

  3. There are usually instructions on the box. Sometimes they even have pictures :P

If you put it in correctly, you shouldn't be able to feel it at all. If it feels weird or it hurts, try reinserting  a different one or use a smaller size.

They're not hard to pull out if they're full enough, but it hurts a little bit to pull out a dry tampon. There is a string and the good brands are usually pretty durable. It can't get lost in there, so don't worry!

  4. I wouldn't suggest using one for the first time in a swimming pool. It took me a while to be able to insert it correctly and be comfortable with it. Just have your Mom show you how it is done and give you advice. The first time you have one in and sit it could hurt. Also.. see if you Mom can either call you out of school or out early.. depending on when your gym class is.
