Swimming help please

Ive started to go swimming a lot more and was wondering what it tones and how it will help me lose weight.

I'm 16

132lbs

and

5"6

I justr want to lose a few inches off my thighs and waist etc..

So is swimming the best sort of exercise for me to do or not?

  1. Start of nice and easy to warm up. Kick with a board. breaststroke for inner thighs and frontcrawl for outer thighs. Do about 4 lengths and rest for 20 secs and repeat 3 times.

    doing regular swimming does help weight but dont overdo it


  2. If you're swimming,the legs will start to excercise because of you swimming.If you jump into pool and swim to the very end,you will get some excercise.When your legs start to hurt,that means you're building muscle!nd losing weight.[a little bit]

  3. It certainly will help you lose weight.  You need to build up the lengths you do and keep pushing.  Do not remain in a comfort zone.

    Interval training is good - i.e. don't do it every day - every other day is perfect.


  4. Swimming is a great exercise to do to get a smaller waist. Your thighs will also become more toned though they might not get smaller. If you swim regularly you'll probably also see larger or more toned muscles on your arms, shoulders, back, and abs.

  6. Yes, swimming will help you loose weight.  It will mainly target your thighs if you do breast-stroke or life-saving back-stroke (no arms, breast stroke legs on your back).

    To help you tummy toning jus do some sit-ups.

  7. yes, swimming is a great exercise to do because it is a form of cardio and cardio burns fat, but if you want good results do some sort of other leg exercises.running is another way to tone your legs.
