hey guys i just got a swimming pool yesterday because i just couldnt stand the heat anymore. anyway the pool is not very big its like 3800 gallons, its the round kind. so my question is what do i have to do to keep the water good? what chemicals do i have to add, how much, what kind etc. im new to this so i have no idea what to do so the clearer and detailed resposes would help. i know that if i leave the water like that it will turn green, and i want to avoid that. Thank-you and have a good day.

  1. Add a amount of chlorine to your water, based on calculations per gallon by the federal government, so just look it up on google and you should find out that.

plus, since yours wont have a filter, I would suggest you cover it at all times

  2. I got advice about how to maintain my hot tub from the pool expert at my local hardware store, where pool chemicals are sold. He taught me how to test the water and correct imbalances.

You could also call your local pool store for advice. They'll guide you; a happy customer always comes back, and they no doubt would like to have your future business.

  3. Baquicil(sp) always worked for me,no testing like you have to do w/chlorine. Most pool stores sell it.

    Good luck.
