ok so i put a TH350 in my camaro and i take it down the street, picks up great and everything just cant get it to shift while its in drive. So what i'm thinking is maybe the kickdown cable is to tight and maybe thats why it wont come out of 1st i don't know any ideas???

And yes like i said picks up great full on fluid and everything

  1. On that trans it would only be two things: no vacuum to the modulator or a governor/gear problem.

  2. your vacuum hose needs to be on the top of the manifold behind the carb or at least the largest port you can get it on. if you need to know how to adjust the kick down--- remove it from the carb, check to see if it fits a bit loose- about 1/4 of an inch "sloppy". open the plastic retainer and slide the cable in or out as needed till you have the slop needed. then reclip the lock down retainer.if this does not help , check the adjustment in the vacuum modulator..  ther is a little- tiny s***w inside the vacuum port that can be adjusted.  good luck

  3. the vacum on the back of trans has to be connected to direct intake vacum port so it will have enough vacum to work properly..
