Does anyone know which firearm the TSA trains commercial pilots in?

  1. Its an H&K .40 cal.  

       The US Airways incident occured due to the stupid design of the trigger lock that TSA forces us to use.  It is literally a "padlock" in the trigger housing but if placed in the housing incorrectly, it can lead to an accidental discharge when the weapon is holstered.


  2. I read the story not to long ago about the airline pilot who accidentally fired his weapon and i believe the article said TSA has only approved one weapon to be carried in the cockpit.. that pilot had a .40-caliber Heckler & Koch.. so i would assume that is the approved weapon

  3. The Federal Air Marshal Service implemented the "Federal Flight Deck Officers" where select pilots of commercial airline flights are allowed carry firearms.

    It's been underfire though (no pun intended) since that incident with the US airways pilot.
