Question:

TTC--late EWCM and temp spike?

TTC is driving me crazy! I got a positive OPK on Wednesday AND my Clearblue Easy Monitor told me that I was peak (I got a peak on Wed & Thurs.). My temperature started to rise and Fertility Friend told me that I ovulated on Wednesday. DH and I BD'd Tues., Wed., Thurs., & Fri. mornings.

But today (Sunday) my temperature shot up almost a full degree (while my previous temps were only creeping upward in the days previous) and I have egg white cervical mucus!!! We didn't BD yesterday or today, so does that mean that I ovulated yesterday or today, and we missed it?

  1. BD again today and tomorrow to be safe. Estrogen can do funny things at any time in your cycle, so that could cause the EWCM. FF.com will continue to monitor your temps and might indeed change your ovulation date if your temps stay up high for the next 2 days. But the LH surge suggests that the CBEFM was correct, especially if this appears to coincide with previous month's results from the CBEFM. They tend not to get things wrong if there's enough data already in the system. Be sure to remain 'conservative' about your ovulation date when it comes to choosing when to test. Always better late than early :)

  2. Even if you did ovulate today you have a chance.  Sperm can live up to 5 days in wait for the egg.  So  your BD'ing will be good for that.
