Question:

Taco bell or theatre nacho cheese?

I was wondering if anybody knew a good recipe for nacho cheese, i usually use cheese whiz, with a bit of milk melted, but it isnt spicy at all and tastes nothing like real nacho cheese, if anybody could please help/

  1. Both of those are processed cheese spreads .....

    CON QUESO DIP

    1 8-oz. softened package cream cheese

    8 oz. shredded cheddar cheese

    2 cans Rotel tomatoes (with jalapenos)

    Melt cream cheese & cheddar cheese until well blended; add tomatoes.  Serve hot with tortilla chips

    No reason you can't add more finely chopped jalapeno or serrano peppers


  2. Try adding some pico de gallo or even a can of Rotel.

  3. You need to buy Velveeta cheese blocks. You can get it at any grocery store. Cube it and melt it down with a little milk in the microwave. Add fresh Pico de Gallo and you will have the best nacho cheese dip.

  4. i once heard someone once say that any cheese that runs at room temperature or comes from a can is against the rules of nature(i'm talkin' about "chedder" here)

  5. Nacho Cheese

    1/2 package (4 oz.) cream cheese

    8 oz. sharp chedder cheese, cubed

    1 and 3/4 cups milk *

    1/4 cup milk *

    Tapatio hot sauce (or substitute hot sauce of choice)

    1/8 cup Jalepeno Peppers, diced (can be adjusted to taste)

    1/8 cup Red Bell Pepper, diced

    2 tablespoons flour

    Instructions:

    1. Soften cream cheese in a covered sauce pan over low. Stir frequently. When cream cheese is a soft consistancy add chedder cubes

    2. In a separate bowl add flour to 1/4 cup milk. Mix thoroughly with a fork and put it aside for later use.

    3. Add Tapatio hot sauce to taste (I use 10-15 good squirts), diced Red Bell Peppers, & diced Jalepenos & 1/2 cup milk. Stir and melt mixture. Increase temperature to medium

    4. When mixture is homogenous add remaining milk (less the flour & milk mixture) Mix thoroughly

    5. Add flour-water mixture to cheese sauce

    6. Stir constantly and bring to a boil

    7. Once at a boil, let boil for 1 minute while stirring.

    8. Turn off burner, remove from heat.

    9. Enjoy!
