Taking japanese freshmen year?

Question

ok so I'm going to be fresh fish in about 2 weeks.

I'm moving schools so i have to choose my classes

soon.i was thinking of japanese because of my love for anime,

but i dont know if it will be to hard.

like speaking it is no problem for me,but its writing and reading

that makes m a little skeptical.would you recommend it?

i plan on going to japan one day so i know it wont be a waste.

maybe i should wait for soft-more?

please help me out.

yesh you should take it

it will prepare yuh when yuh go to japan

so go ahead and take it

if yuh really love anime then yuh should do it

you dont lose anything really

I think its a good idea to take it now.

That way if you want to take more advanced Japanese classes you'll be able to. And later on you'll have harder classes so if you take it now the work load wont seem like so much.

When I took it the first thing I learned was how to write Hiragana. So you learn that first and do eveything in Japanese basically. You'll learn Katakana and some kanju later.

the whole class is mostly memorizing (of course). If you already have some prior knowledge of the language that will help you a lot when learning sentence structures (like word order) .

It's also fun being able to read the symbols in anime's and stuff!  I can for the most part.

It's time consuming because Japanese is a complicated language but I liked it, it was a lot of fun

to be frank, according to the Lexicon and collection of Languages, Japanese is one of the hardest language in the world but not as hard as Chinese. I suggest, before moving to Japan, read many books and enroll yourself in Japanese class where there are people using the medium of speaking. It's just like when you learn Japanese, not all people can understand you, you should also use it as your dialect for some reason to develop yourself. Just Like some other languages... Japanese have sound-base meaning for example:

the word:

koko - the stress is on both vowel "o" - it means "high school"

koko - the stress is on the first vowel "o" - it means "arc light"

koko - the stress is on the second vowel "o" - it means "here"

koko - the stress is spoken fast but sounds like the arc light - it means "municipal"

Though the "arc light" and "municipal" are rarely used in japan in colloquial communication, some words still remains hard to pronounce... Good for you that you don't have problems with pronunciation. Better find someone to teach you, a tutor or find a japanese class so you could learn it more.

Kanji, Haragana, Katakana... these are their alphabet... Japan have more vowels and they only have a single consonant which is "n"... How to practice these? Honestly, you should memorize them. Compare to Chinese, an elementary student should learn 3,000 Chinese characters. I found a book from our library writing the complex letters (These are combined letters of their alphabet and make it as one). The Katakana and Haragana are not that hard to memorize because they have simple strokes you just need to practice. The borrowed letters are the hard one's but i know you can cope with it just learn the basic letters first...
