Taking my Mirena out!!?

I had my son Sept. 2007 and had my Mirena put in Jan. 2008. When I had my son I lost a lot of the weight and only had about 10 pounds to go, but than I got Mirena and since than I have gained over 15 pounds. I have not done anything differently food and exercise wise. I have never had weight problems and I am still really young (18) so I have no health problems. I have had a lot of symptoms in the course of the last 8 months. Very low/ to non existent s*x drive, depression and irritability and mood swings. Which all went away a week or two after I had my son and came back after I got Mirena. I've had a significant amount of weight gain and still gaining gradually, very dry skin and acne. I have rarely ever got acne growing up, so it's very unusual. I've had a noticeable amount of hair loss and have been very low on energy most of the days. I've been getting regular headaches and bad odor down there. I've taken meds and tried creams and nothing is helping it!!! I've never had this before.

I've had a few tests done and everything has come out normal. I am going insane. I know that something is not right. I've done some research on some of my symptoms and found some forums of every dya women talking about some of their symptoms and having Mirena and it's like reading my own story.

Could this be happening because of Mirena? I schedualed an appointment to have it taken out right away, but I know that the nurse will tell me that I'm just depressed and I'm not just depressed! I've been depressed before and this is not the same.

  1. It could be, Mirena does release hormones. Sometimes it takes a while to find the right contraceptive for you. I know women who were on the pill and going crazy, but after switching to a different kind were fine. Try something else and I hope things get better!

  2. I cant really comment on the Merina as i dont really know much about it... I just wanted to say that if you want it removed then it's your choice, if some nurse tells you you are depressed then fine that is her opinion but you don't have to take it on, i think the fact you are reading about other women with the symptoms and feeling like you're "reading your own story" is pretty obvious something is not right.

If you have it taken out and still dont feel right then maybe the nurses were right but i reckon getting rid of any foreign body out of your body first is a good step.

    Just my opinion.

Hope you feel better soon =)

  3. it absolutely can be because of Mirena! I lost my s*x drive after being on the shot for 6 months, and i still have huge problems with it and ive been off for almost 2 years. i have heard before that mirena can have wacky side effects. i hope everything works out once it is gone!

  4. The first thing you need to do is figure out why your s*x drive is low and try to help get it back.  I was in your situation and it's not fun without being horny and feeling in the mood when needed.  I also felt like my orgasms (if I would even get one) were really weak.  Probably because of my s*x drive.

However, I tried exercising and dieting but nothing seemed to be working.  I thought I was screwed.  I then found something just as amazing as the vibrator.

My friend at work told me about this stuff she took to raise her s*x drive.  It was a natural herbal supplement and was I lucky to of found it.  Theres no side effects and the s*x drive is just tremendous along with orgasms that are blasting.  The stuff is called Hersolution pills.  At the time I saved money on them at herenhancement.com

What I did was tried out for 3 months and that was really it.  I found taking them every other day or so was the best to stretch it out. After the months were up, I was back to normal with a beating s*x drive and my o****m strength in increased so much.

Well good luck and I hope this helps.
